I have used this simple fix many many times. Using the two will clean the moisture build up and the ports contact points. The weird thing is it was only in a slightly steamy room.
Be very gentle in cleaning the port.
It is wet and raining but the charger was dry and my phone was dry in my purse. Then blow it out with canned air if you can. Turn off your device and use the can of compressed air or the bulb syringe to clean out the charging port. Usually theres some dirt in the charging dock that is causing this issue.
